Austrian control operation
Planai Bahnen [Planai Rails] is regarded as an Austrian control operation in the cable car industry. Numerous innovations emanated from Planai Rails, which later spread throughout Austria. The pioneering spirit was especially evident in the development of snow facilities (first trials began as early as 1978), the greening of the ski pistes (creation of own alpine seed mix during long term trials), development of modern ascent facilities, development of a chat room at a height of 1900 m, as well as the successful introduction of a “Ski-EKG” – a first in Austria’s ski regions! The new cable car facilities at “Golden Jet” also provide new definition to the valley station with its special architectural design. The station building takes on the form of a skier’s carving swing.
